.Have you ever seen a chocolate brown/black kitty cat as cute as me? Just look at how beautiful I am! I am a little shy at first until I get to know you and then I will be your best friend. I have very long hair so my new human companions will need to be knowledgeable in the grooming needs of long haired kitty cats. My name is Bear. Meet Nancy. Hi there ~ I was brought to CARA as a stray. I am approximately four years old as of May. '09. I am a little shy at first but will warm up quickly. I was turned in to CARA along with my three littermates but I was the only surviving one out of the litter. We were only a few weeks old when someone found us under a bush on the side of the road. We were full of fleas and extremely malnourished. The folks at the shelter did everything they could do to save us but my littermates did not even live 24 hours after being brought in from the outdoor elements. I am a fighter and with bottlefeeding and lots of TLC, I made it through the unfortunate situation I was in. I have been neutered and am awaiting my forever home. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Elizabeth at cara4cats@gmail.com.

HiYa Folks! I am came to CARA when I was about three weeks old ~ born to a feral mama cat. Apparently she was moving me and my littermates when somehow I got hung up in a vine of the shrubs we were living in. No one knows how long my leg was caught in the shrubs but it was long enough to completely cut the circulation off to my left back leg. The harder my mama kitty tried to pull me out of the bush, the tighter the vine became around my leg. Thank goodness a Flowood police officer was nearby and came to my rescue! He had to cut the vine off of my leg with wire cutters. I was only three weeks old when I was found. My mama kitty was lunging at him the entire time because she thought he was going to harm me. She didn't know that he was actually trying to help me. He brought me to the CARA Shelter. By the time I got there, my back leg was swollen five times its normal size. They said that it looked like someone attached a one year old kitty cat's paw onto my leg. A Vet looked at me right away and gave me some medicine for the swelling. He said that he didn't think I was going to loose my leg, but I may have some nerve damage... only time would tell from one of these kinds of injuries. Right before we left the Vet Clinic, he looked at my pitiful foot and said, "We need to call you BigFoot"... Kewl name, huh! I went to a foster to be bottlefed. I stayed there until I was able to eat big kitty food. I made a complete recovery with absolutely no nerve damage. If you did not know about his injury prior to meeting me, you would never know it. I was adopted two times but was brought back to the shelter both times. I am super active and need lots of toys and maybe even a few feline friends to play with. If I don't have any toys, I will find my own, like your toilet paper roll. That is why I was brought back the last time because everytime my human left me home, I tried to see how much of the toilet paper towel roll I could get off at one time. All I need is a few furry toy mice and noisy balls to play with. A real live feline friend in my new home would be nice too especially if they love to play tumble as much as I do. Please consider me for when looking for a super energetic and playful kitty. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Elizabeth at cara4cats@gmail.com.
