![]() .Have you ever seen a chocolate brown/black kitty cat as cute as me? Just look at how beautiful I am! I am a little shy at first until I get to know you and then I will be your best friend. I have very long hair so my new human companions will need to be knowledgeable in the grooming needs of long haired kitty cats. My name is Bear. ![]() Hello there~ The folks at CARA call me Baulder. I am approximately 4 yrs. old as of March '08. I came to CARA as a stray ~ very hungry and scared. I had a huge abcess over my right eye but they gave me medicine to help me get better. I have since been neutered and updated on shots ~ just awaiting my forever home. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. |
![]() . I came to CARA with my feline mommy, Delilah, and my two littermates Lola and Cheeto. We were born close to a nice lady's house. She fed us for a long time, but could no longer care for us so she got us on the list to come to CARA. We were born in June '08. We are very sweet and playful. It would be nice if I could be adopted with my feline mommy or either with one of my littermates, but that is not required... Just as long as you give me lots of toys and TLC! My name is George. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. (I am being SPONSORED by Don & Nancy Hudson of Groveland, FL!) |
![]() Hello there! I was rescued from the parking lot of a hospital in the area and was near starvation. The folks at the shelter said that they have never seen a cat come in to the shelter as skinny as I was. They thought I had some type of illness because I was literally a skeleton covered with fur so they had me tested for FELV and FIV. Those tests came back negative and I am perfectly fine. You could literally see my hip bones, all of my ribs and every ridge in my backbone. I was just so skinny because I wasn't sure where and how I was going to get food for so long. I just ate when I was lucky enough to stumble upon something to survive from day to day. I have been at the shelter for a couple of weeks now and yes! I am gaining weight ~ slowly but surely. They said that I have to gain a couple of more pounds before my spay surgery but I will have the weight put on in no time with the buffet that you get around here at CARA. I am Roxy. ![]() We were approximately four or five weeks old when we were brought to CARA last summer (June '08). We were barely eating on our own and were extremely malnourished. There were five of us to begin with, but two of our littermates did not make it past the first few days of being at the shelter. One of our littermates has been adopted so now it's just the two of us. We are very playful and we love the feather wand toys that the shelter staff let us play with. It would be nice if we could be adopted together but it is not required. We get along with all of the felines at CARA who are interested in kitten play. I'm sure we could get used to the canine species with a little bit of getting used to them. We are very curious and active and would love to be part of a forever family real soon. We are Heidi and Heathcliffe. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. |
![]() Meet Silver. I was brought to CARA as a stray. I was very pregnant when I arrived. It looked like I swallowed a football! I was in serious distress and no matter which position I got in, I was very uncomfortable. They thought I was trying to deliver my babies, but nothing was happening so they got me to the vet right away. After checking my vital signs, the vet knew something was wrong so she did emergency surgery only to find that all of my babies were stillborn. None of them had survived to term and that is why I was in such severe distress. Thank goodness I am spayed now and will not ever have to go through that again. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. |
![]() I was turned into CARA as a stray with slight injuries that the vet determined were from being clipped by a car. I have since healed and have been spayed. I am a very calm and laid back kitty ~ hoping to get a forever home very soon. My name is SUGAR! To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. |
![]() These two littermates (Madison and Morgan)are approximately five years old as of March '09. These gals are hoping to get a home soon. They are very playful and will need lots of toys and TLC. They have been together since they were born so it would heartbreaking to split them up so we will require that they get adopted together. They are a little timid at first so they will need a home where parents are willing to be patient with them as they come out of their shell. They prefer a quiet and settled home. They would probably not do well with dogs or small children because they would probably hide from them. To begin the adoption process, please fill out the online cat adoption application or contact Daphne at (601) 720-5275. |
