Charmin's Story

Update 10/26/09: Charmin has completed her heartworm treatments and has
come through her surgery to correct her intestines! She's recovering at the shelter and doing great!
Thanks to so many of you and your caring hearts
Charmin was able to be scheduled for surgery to repair her intestines.
Unfortunately, Charmin was given a bit more bad news when she tested positive for heartworms.
The surgery will have to be
put off until her heartworm treatment is completed. Because of the wonderful donations given in Charmin's name, she is now
preparing for her heartworm treatment with steroids, antibiotics and lasix.
Charmin would have never had a chance without your donations! She can now receive treatment for her heartworms and have
her intestines repaired. Any donations received in Charmin's name that exceed her immediate expenses will be held for her
future vet care while she is at CARA. Any amount exceeding that will stay in our special needs fund which will be shared
with a new program called "Heartworm Heroes" - look for it on this link soon.
